The Finalists &
Their Stories

Lucas & Madelyn
My fiancé and I met when we were in kindergarten. We’ve been friends since we were young and became really good friends in high school. When we were in grade 11 Covid happened and we had to quarantine. We were both in drama and our theatre teacher got us to do a play over zoom and we played romantic interests. The following year we were in grade 12 and though there were still restrictions we were able to go back to school. Our school put on the musical Footloose and we got cast as Ren and Ariel. Eventually after one of my high school friends told him to just man up he asked me out and we’ve been together ever since. I can’t imagine my life without him and I literally haven’t ever known life without him because we met so young.

We are high school sweethearts, started dating at sixteen and he asked just last year in July 2023. My family is from Newfoundland and we planned a trip back there so he could meet my grandmother and extended family as I knew the engagement was going to be happening soon. We went on a weekend staycation there on a tiny fishing island off the south coast of Newfoundland where he asked me along the shore.

Ryleigh & Travis
TW: talk of miscarriage and stillbirth.
Travis and I met on Tinder after growing up literally blocks from each other. It was kinda the “when you know you know” moment. After 4 months I moved in with Travis (he didn’t accept or decline) and that’s kinda where the “he’s the real MVP” started. In between the beginning of 2018 and 2022 it was one of the best times of my life with Trav. We went on trips, survived covid quarantine and fell more in love. Fast forward September 2022 and I find out I’m expecting. Totally unplanned I only took a pregnancy test because my fitness watch kept asking me if I’ve got my period yet. This would turn out to be the worst 5 months of our lives as our baby at 21 weeks passed away and was delivered stillborn. We knew then we wanted to be parents and kept trying and got pregnant again November 2024 only to miscarry at 11 weeks. We have put it on hold for now and will (maybe) stop trying before the wedding but who knows.

Justin & Jenna
Justin and I met back in 2016. We were best friends and finally started dating in 2018 after a few years of not admitting how much we secretly liked eachother, even though everyone and our mothers even knew how much we got along and wanted to be with each other 😂 nothing better than dating your best friend. Lots of laughs jokes love and friendship ♥️ we got engaged back in summer of July 2023, we where so excited and had originally planned on having our wedding for summer of 2024, unfortunately at the end of this past year it was a big unfortunate surprise that Justin was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer. And so we have had to pause any planning of our wedding. It was quite the hard year near the ending of 2024. With a surgery and very intense chemotherapy throughout christmas and new years that just past we can now thankfully and happily say Justin is now currently in remission and we are so hopeful and excited for what 2025 will bring us in our lives ♥️and to finally have our wedding to not only celebrate our love but also to celebrate all the hardships and battles the last year has impacted on us. And to just celebrate us 🩷 life really shows you that time isn’t promised and to hold your loved ones tight. And we can’t wait to move on and forward with our lives. And go forward with our big day to spend with all the people we love.
